Fabulous Friday - Bestist Ice Tea

Since I've moved to the south (well, almost south. To a Californian, Kentucky is south! Not deep south, but south.) I've really gotten into sweet tea. Naturally, when we were in California, we drank tea, but sugar was less present. Also, ice tea wasn't really a thing. But I really like ice tea, especially with mint (to add mint, just add/remove them with the tea bags.) So here's our recipe. It's super good. There's even a secret ingredient (oh yeah)!

First of all, I think, in general, sweet ice tea is too sweet, so if you like things sweet, feel free to add sugar! It's not a science. (:

Adapted from: Craving Comforts - Perfect Sweet Tea

Ingredients:

12 (regular) bags of tea
4 quarts water
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:

Boil 1 quart of water in a pasta pot.
After the water comes to a boil, add tea bags and steep with the lid on, for 15 minutes.
Once the tea bags have finished steeping, remove them and add the sugar and baking soda.
Once the baking soda & sugar are all dissolved, add the other three quarts of water.

Refrigerate for two hours before serving. Serve over ice.

Also, mixed half and half with mango nectar from Costco is awe-some, if I do say so myself!

Don't forget the derby is tomorrow!! Tune in at 6:30 to watch the whole thing!

And one last thing before I go, this coming week I will be AT THE BEACH, so the posts will be short and sweet. See you then!
